Based on Chemistry, Material science, and Bioengineering, and with a forte in surface modification and bioconjugation, we persistently develop novel biofunctionalized nanomaterials to address present-day clinical needs. The nanomaterials we create ultimately serve as integral components in a wide range of clinically relevant biodevices, ranging from implantable biosensors to point-of-care bio-detection platforms.

Translational Nanobioscience Our lab is focused on characterizing the interactions of biomacromolecules and nanomaterials with biological systems, and translating scientific insights into engineered solutions to address outstanding needs in medicine, biotechnology, and agriculture. Key research areas include biosensor development, interfacial science, and biophysics. We also develop pharmaceutical drugs and nanomedicines for infectious disease, cancer, and immunology applications, especially lipid nanoparticle technologies. Current projects include: 1.
