CAL2016 Elementary Fluid Mechanics 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 - No
The study of fluids at rest or in motion. Fluids differ from solids in their inability to resist shear stresses except by continuous deformation. Topics include : 1) Fluid Properties : compressibility, and viscosity. 2) Hydrostat- ics : principle of Pascal, Archimedes' law, and relative equilibrium. 3) Hyd- rokinetics : flow patterns, conservation of mass and momentum, and the Bernoulliequation, 4) Viscosity : Reynold's number, laminar and turbulent flows, Newto- n's law of viscosity, and Prandtl's mixing length.
CAL2017 Digital Virual Design 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 - No
The civil engineering structural design process based on digital technology including CAD(Computer Aided Design), VR(Virtual Reality), DMU(Digital Mockup), and CAE(Computer Aided Engineering), PDM(Product Data Management), etc.
CAL2018 Soil Mechanics and Laboratory 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 English Yes
Laboratory experriences on the subjects taught in Soil Mechanics. study how to obtain the basic properties of soil: Water content measurement; Specific gravity measurement; Sieve analysis; Hydrometer analysis; Field density measurement; Liquid limit test; Soil classification; Constant head permeability test; Falling head permeability test; Flow net; Mohr circle
CAL2019 Advanced Soil Mechanics 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 English Yes
Detailed study of basic engineering soil properties required for analysis and design of foundation and earth structures; Basic principles for analysis and design of earth structures with emphasis on application to practice; Compressibility of soil(Theory of consolidation, one-dimensional consolidation test, normally and over-consolidated clay, time rate of consolidation, calculation of consolidation settlement, immediate settlement); Shear strength of soil; Theory of earth pressure(Earth pressure at rest, Rankine and Coulomb earth pressure)
CAL2020 Surveying and Practice 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 Korean Yes
Surveying has traditionally been defined as the science, art and technology of determining the relative positions of points above, on, or beneath the earth's surface, or of establishing such points. This subject deals with the theory and the application of quantitative and qualitative survey in relation to all aspects of public works, urban planning, regional planning, land environment survey. This includes followings in general remarks: definition of survey contents and scope of survey reference of survey coordinate system of survey geoid and terrestrial ellipsoid design of reference ellipsoid establishment of regional or state coordinate system transformation of coordinate system survey and error methodology of error treatment.
CAL2021 Advanced Surveying and Practive 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 Korean Yes
This subject deals mainly with the practical applications of diffent surveying methods for the field of civil engineering, urban planning, reginal planning, and natural resource, etc..This includes the followings : Spirit leveling Triangulation by Theodolite Trilateration by EDM GPS surveying Road design Hydraulic surveying Area computation Topographic surveying Surveying for building construction
CAL2022 Introduction to Smart City Infrastructures 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 Korean Yes
Recently, Urban environment is changing to a smart city environment with the advent of ubiquitous computing technology. In particular, by integrating the ubiquitous technology to infrastructure facilities such as roads, bridges, plumbing facilities, we are reducing the maintenance cost and preventing accident. This course introduces basic knowledge to improve functionality of the city infrastructures by integrating sensors, networks, intelligence technologies for constructing the futuristic smart cities. Also, from the lectures, students would take a look at several examples for smart city developments and they should be provided basic guidelines for future city constructions.
