Arboretum has served for the people to appreicate the value of nature preservation, love for the nature and well being of the people. So it has an important role in nature preservation. Representative arboreta are selected to study from domestic arboreta. Collection, cultivation, propagation and management of landscape trees are explored. Also search for job opportunity related to arboretum.
CAL2063 Urban Environment and Open Spaces 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-4 - No
The fields covered in landscape architecture are defined as the open space. In modern times, most of the open space lies in the urban environment. In the class, the role of urban open spaces that affects the quality of urban environment and life of urban residents to be delivered through theory of urban landscape design and urban design at the various perspectives – ecologic, cultural, etc. Through the class, students also examine the types of open spaces, select one of the types of open spaces, and research the effects of utility value of selected open space, pros and cons at the urban context, and human behavior at the open space.
CAL2064 Landscape Drawing and Representation 4 8 Major Bachelor 2-4 - No
This course is to help students understand the basic principles of landscape design. Students learn the visual thinking and various communication means through the process of observing, describing, analyzing and representing the space and objects. Through the various expression techniques that make concrete and detail form, students can produce visual results and train free hand drawing and drafting technique. Students learn how to use drafting tools, drawing plans, types of lines, drafting lines, understanding scales, expressing trees and facilities, sections, elevations, and two or three dimensional representations of space.
CAL2067 Korean Landscape Exploration 1 2 Major Bachelor 2-4 - No
Man has lived in Korea for more than tens of thousand years. It has beautiful landscape and cultural and historially precious landsapes. which is treasure of man cutural heritage. Representative cultural, historical and beautiful landscapes are selected to study to appreciate South and Nouth Korean heritage deeply by investigating its nature, culture and history.
CAL2069 Building Systems 1 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 Korean Yes
The primary focus of Building System 1 is the study of the HVAC(Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning) system and building energy consumption to control the indoor thermal comfort, air cleaning and ventilation in buildings, which are the most basic requirements for engineers who are majoring in architectural engineering. In this course, the concept of heating and cooling system, ventilation / air cleaning system, and related duct and fan system will be addressed. Moreover, students will be challenged to apply these techniques and explore the role energy can play in shaping buildings.
CAL2070 Building Systems 2 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 - No
The primary focus of Building System 2 learns the concepts of water supply / hot water supply, sanitation system, electric equipment, gas equipment, fire fighting equipment, etc. which are essential for people to live in the building. Also, the concept of IoT based BEMS(Building Energy Management System), TAB & commissioning which are essential for the implementation of ZEB(Zero Energy Building) will be addressed. This course deals with advanced building systems that are essential for architectural engineering students oriented to the construction engineer and manager, building energy manager and construction public services.
CAL2073 Landscape Computer Graphics 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 Korean Yes
This class covers user interface design, sprite graphics, vector graphics, 3D modeling, shaders, GPU design, implicit surface visualization with ray tracing, and computer vision, among others. The overall methodology depends heavily on the underlying sciences of geometry, optics, and physics. Computer graphics is responsible for displaying art and image data effectively and meaningfully to the user. Computer graphic and other application programs will be studied and landscape design and expression techniques will be learned. The acquired techniques will be used in landscape design.
CAL2075 Probability in Engineering 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 Korean Yes
This course offers an introduction to Probability in Engineering for students majoring in architectural engineering. Contents of the course include basics of probability theory, probability distributions, multivariate distributions, estimation, and statistical inference. Students will gain fundamental knowledge regarding probability and statistics that can be useful for modelling engineering problems.
CAL2076 Park and Open Space Design Studio 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-4 English Yes
Park and Open Space Design Studio focuses on parks and open spaces as design sites among the various types of landscape architecture. It is structured to learn the design process, from basic investigation and analysis of the site to derivation of design concepts and development of schemes in detail. Students should present their work at the end of the semester.
CAL2078 Planting Design and Manual 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 - No
Planting design plays a pivotal role in creating meaningful and valuable places that contribute to our culture and nature. This course provides an opportunity for students to lead their own planting design.
