ExCampus (Excampus) refers to an expanded futuristic education platform that connects universities and societies through the social participation of university members by extending out-of-campus fields of sharing knowledge and discussing freely, rather than confining them only to campuses.
Eleven professors from our university participated in ExCampus Season 1, and a special mini lecture was held for about 30 minutes under the common theme of "Looking at the Future through University Intelligence - Humanities, Technology and the Future." English and Chinese subtitles will be provided for foreigners in the future.
"ExCampus is the university's vision and commitment to student success and future value creation," said President Shin Dong-ryul. It is the future vision of Sungkyunkwan University to provide a knowledge-sharing platform where students can participate in learning anytime, anywhere, as well as to navigate a wide sea of knowledge in search of dreams and the future," he explained.
Professor Oh Jong-woo (Department of Russian Language and Literature) said, "Ex is an enterprising prefix. Words with an "ex" mean going outside beyond the current limit. Intelligence explores the world, expand our world, expand our world, expand our world, and expand our world. ExCampus will open a bigger future in the future, he said.
Heo Jung-won (Class of 19 majoring in Culture & Technology Convergence) said, "After listening to Professor Kim Bum-joon's lecture, I realized that physics can be easily accessed," and added, "I feel the need to pay attention to various fields through Excampus, so I am taking 'Smartphone and Pono sapiens' classes in the challenge semester."
Lee Chae-rim, a 20-year-old liberal arts student, said, "I thought I should look at the world wider, not just focusing on my major," adding, "ExCampus is an opportunity to grow into a creative convergence talent as well as a foundation for developing convergence skills."
Bae Sang-hoon, head of the Center for Student Success, said, "We plan to develop ExCampus into a wide-ranging knowledge-sharing platform that involves not only domestic but also renowned scholars from overseas universities," and added, "We plan to invite other universities and institutions in Season 2, and we will expand ExCampus by having overseas scholars participate in Season 3 that will be held in the first half of 2021."
