A Study on the Systematic Management of the Learning Results of Comparative Activities of Students in this School
Open Challenge Square for Student Success Portfolio System
- Integration and management of internal and external comparative activities throughout the previous period of students' college life
- Students have a quick, at-a-glance view of their capabilities to design effective college life and career roadmaps
Our university said it has opened Challenge Square, a portfolio system for student success, for systematic management of student comparative activities and learning outcomes.
Challenge Square is a comprehensive computer support system that integrates and manages internal and external learning outcomes throughout the previous period of student college life. It systematically manages various activities of students, including club activities, volunteer activities, scholarship activities, international exchanges, mentoring, contests, and seminars.
Our university plans to use Challenge Square to analyze student success factors based on big data to support students' successful college life and help them advance into society.
Students can use the system to systematically manage their learning outcomes, as well as look back on their own capabilities by comparing and analyzing them with other students. You can systematically prepare for your career by checking the status of your comparative course completion compared to other students in the same department and in the same grade, and how different the average rating and comparative activities are compared to students who are employed in the desired job category. We can also examine the possibility of scholarship benefits in advance.
In this way, students can effectively design their college life because they can see their strengths and weaknesses at a glance through the system, and further build a career roadmap that suits them based on comprehensive career information based on data-based information.
"Until now, students' data have tended to be managed with a focus on their grades and other curriculum activities," said Kim Dong-wook, head of the school's education office. "Challenge Square will provide a foundation for students to design their college lives more effectively and enter society by establishing a database throughout the entire university life cycle, including non-disciplinary activities as well as subjects."
