About 5,500 students participated in the first semester of our university.
- Operation such as innovative convergence classes, various comparative programs, and internships for corporate field training.
- A total of 5,500 Bachelor's, Master's and Doctor's participants.
Our university said it successfully operated this year's newly introduced challenging semester for 10 weeks from 6.22 (Monday) to 8.28 (Friday) in line with the Untact era environment in order to provide high-quality classes and opportunities for various hands-on activities in areas that students usually have difficulty accessing.
The challenge semester system was introduced this year to focus on providing various programs for our universities, which have increased their summer vacation from two months to three months (this year, 10 weeks due to the Corona 19). It consists largely of a curriculum, a comparative course, an internship, and an international exchange program, all of which are free of charge. Corona 19 prevented the international exchange program from running this semester, and the curriculum and non-textbook programs were 100% online.
The curriculum is run as an innovative convergence class in addition to the existing summer seasonal classes, and students can take up to three credits. Fourteen courses in convergent classes across fields, including "Ponosapiens," "Professor Choi Jae-bung," "Data Science and Social Data Analysis" (Professor Kim Jang-hyun), and "Creative Reason for Humanities" (Professor Kim Yong-seok), have been opened, with about 2,000 participants.
In the comparative program, 23 programs were operated in areas that students had never experienced, including "Platinum Lecture in the Challenge Semester" (Professor Dennis Hong) and "Building Machine Learning and Deep Learning Foundation" (Professor Oh Ha-young), and about 2,400 people participated in the program, adding to the excitement. A total of four internship programs were operated, including corporate field training, problem-solving projects and research experiences, with 1,770 applicants and 667 participants.
Starting next semester, our university will secure 12 weeks during the vacation period to drastically expand internship programs and promote international exchange programs in earnest.
President Shin Dong-ryul said, "Although we are suffering worldwide due to the Corona 19, we have not dampened our students' enthusiasm to explore a better future," and added, "We will continue to plan various programs with interest so that students can have various experiences in the future."
