Award-winning performance including Industrial Engineering Smart Factory Track Smart Work Excellence Award (Best Award) for Industry Minister
The e-Manufactoring Research Laboratory (Nam Young-wook, Lee Sang-ho, Lee Dong-gun, Lim Sung-joo, and Professor Noh Sang-do) of the Graduate School of Industrial Engineering won the Industry Minister Award at the Smart Factory Excellence Research Competition.
The thesis title is 'Worker Digital Twin-based Application Design and Implementation for People-Machine Collaboration Factory Design' and implemented functions to design and analyze workability and productivity by organizing and utilizing worker digital channels based on cyberphysical system technology in smart factories. It also demonstrated its effectiveness by applying developed applications to actual smart factories.
In addition, a team of students from the Graduate School of Industrial Engineering and Smart Factory Track Graduate School (a master's degree course at Nam Young-wook, Yang Woo-sung, Shin Kyo-ham, and Yang Dong-hyuk) won the Smart Manufacturing Industry Association Award (the award).
The project title was 'Study on the Construction of Digital Twin Applications based on Operator Motion Data', which was designed, implemented and applied through comparative analysis of factory design methods, including human-machine collaboration processes, by constructing digital windows based on operator motion data.
The smart factory's outstanding thesis competition and presentation of achievements of the smart factory operation design project are held annually to expand the research base for key smart factory technologies and advanced smart factory operation design policies and technologies, and this year's award ceremony was held at the Future Factory Conference hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on Dec. 6, 2019 at The K Hotel in Seoul.
