Signs agreement with Engineering Education Innovation Center and 3D Convergence Industry Association to foster 3D printing technology personnel and develop technology
- Conducting a work agreement ceremony in the second room of Sungkyunkwan University's Natural Science Campus.
The Center for Engineering Education Innovation (CEO Lee Joon-young) signed a business agreement with the 3D Convergence Industry Association (CEO Kang Seung-chul) on January 22 (Su) in the 2nd Meeting Room of the Natural Science Campus to train and develop 3D printing technical personnel.
The ceremony was attended by Seo Jong-hwan, director of the center of the 3D printed hybrid center of this school, and Kang Seung-chul, chief of the 3D convergence industry association.
The 3D Convergence Industry Association is striving to foster new technology industries and new growth engines for the next generation of 3D convergence industries such as information electronics, contents, SW and broadcasting services amid a new convergence industry paradigm that integrates with traditional industries as well as IT.
After today's ceremony, officials toured Sungkyunkwan University's 3D printing hybrid center and the Running Factory together to exchange in-depth opinions on the current status of the main industry and the future direction of cooperation.
Kang Seung-chul said, "The size of the printing market itself is still in the process of germinating to 400 billion won in Korea and 10 trillion won in the world, but because of its infinity in use, large domestic companies are also paying keen attention to research and development.
However, we hope that the pool of technical professionals is small and that the 3D printing sector is an industrial sector that could lead to an explosive workforce demand in the future, so we hope to see a lot of interest from the best students."
Lee Joon-young, head of the Center for Innovation in Engineering Education, said, "The 3D printing field is a convergence industry where various school systems meet and high value can be created. We ask the 3D Convergence Industry Association to provide on-site education to our universities as it is essential to train professionals involved in such fast-developing new industries through close cooperation with the industry association," he said.
Seo Jong-hwan, head of the 3D printing hybrid center, said, "We will provide universities with many opportunities to experience the 3D printing convergence industry so that talented people can contribute to the growth of innovation in the 3D convergence industry as well as materials used for 3D printing, 3D printing image data optimization, medical printing, and standardization in the 3D printing industry."
Through the agreement, the two organizations will carry out various cooperation activities that are deemed necessary for mutual development of the two organizations, including the development and operation of education programs to foster professionals in the 3D convergence industry, the enhancement of awareness of 3D convergence industry technologies and the holding of job descriptions to provide job information.
