EPO6011 | Studies in Organic SynthesisⅡ | 3 | 6 | Major | Doctor | 1-4 | Polymer Science and Engineering | - | No |
Study on developing ideas of multistep synthetic design provides much integrated information on synthetic methods and pathways for the construction of interesting target molecules on the basis of the rational analysis of the unit processes such as halogenation, oxidation, and esterification etc.
EPO6012 | Special Topics in Numerical Analysis | 3 | 6 | Major | Doctor | 1-4 | Polymer Science and Engineering | - | No |
This course is intended to provide the students with the numerical analysis capabilities for graduate study. Included in this course are finite difference method, finite element method, control volume method to simulate specific polymer processes.
EPO6014 | Tissue Engineering | 3 | 6 | Major | Doctor | 1-4 | Polymer Science and Engineering | - | No |
Damaged tissue and organs was surgically eliminated in the past years. But the end of 20th century, there were new approaches to recover damaged parts using polymeric, ceramic and metallic materials. In near future, we can see the highly developed system, called tissue engineering, which can be changable damaged organs to artificially organized tissue. To understand such a up to dated research field, we study hybridized knowledges of biochemistry, cell biology and polymer chemistry in this course.
EPO6015 | Polymerization EngineeringⅡ | 3 | 6 | Major | Doctor | 1-4 | Polymer Science and Engineering | - | No |
This lesson theoretically considers the chemical engineering aspects of polymerization processes on the base of the reaction engineering, transport phenomera, mixing and thermodynamics. Several polymerization processes are compared and analysed on the final properties of polymer.
EPO6017 | Elastomer and Rubber | 3 | 6 | Major | Doctor | 1-4 | Polymer Science and Engineering | - | No |
The research around elastomer and rubber during world war Ⅱ have played an important role in the development of polymer science. The elastomeric properties can be found in any materials but the one of polymeric materials has different origin from other materials. This lecture will cover the basic structure of elastomer and the thermodynamic origin of rubber elasticity. Example of practial applications as well as many theoretical approaches will be also introduced.

ERP4001 | Creative Group Study | 3 | 6 | Major | Bachelor/Master | - | No
This course cultivates and supports research partnerships between our undergraduates and faculty. It offers the chance to work on cutting edge research—whether you join established research projects or pursue your own ideas. Undergraduates participate in each phase of standard research activity: developing research plans, writing proposals, conducting research, analyzing data and presenting research results in oral and written form. Projects can last for an entire semester, and many continue for a year or more. SKKU students use their CGS(Creative Group Study) experiences to become familiar with the faculty, learn about potential majors, and investigate areas of interest. They gain practical skills and knowledge they eventually apply to careers after graduation or as graduate students.
