Various theories and methodologies for construction productivity improvement will be introduced over the life-cycle of the construction project. Students will examine how to apply these to the real construction works and sites. This theories and methodologies may include construction equipment and material management technique, production management tools from other fields such as industrial engineering and management, human factor management, and high tech such as IT, BIM, and automation.
GCE5008 Design of steel structures 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-8 Global Construction Engineering - No
In this class mechanical properties and current trend of structural steel are taught, and the behavior of steel members are studied. The concept of load and resistance factor design of steel structures is studied also. Then the design procedures for structural elements such as tensile members, compression members, bending members, composite members, and connections are studied. Finally the characteristics of structure systems for steel structures are studied.

This class investigates the facade design methods of building. Building facade has a significant impact on the performances of the building. Current researches and case studies for building facade design will be investigated.
GCE5010 HVAC System Design 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-8 Global Construction Engineering - No
The student can be understood the calculation method of heating and cooling load. Also, the student will be taught the principle of HVAC design in this class.
