Topics of special interest in polymer research will be announced in advance of each semester offering. Recent subjects include; Biomedical polymers, polymers for Electronics, Polymers and Enviroment, and Degradation and Stabilization.
EPO5041 Functional Polymers for Electric/Electronic Materials 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
This course is for the student who is engaged in MS and PhD course in the field of electric/electronic polymer materials. Such polymers are essentially core materials for the developing IT technologies, so we offer the new trends and technologies of the brand new an=bove polymeric materials and also seek the possible tools for developing highly functional polymer for the actual application of IT fields.
EPO5042 Special Topics in Composite MaterialsⅠ 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
In specific applications of polymeric composites in aerospace environment and automobile/marine industry, the advanced performance/design evaluation will be collectively discussed. Included in the lecture topics are thermo-oxidative stability, durablility, fatigue, lifetime prediction, and theoretical modeling of performanc and design evaluation.
EPO5043 Elastomer Engineering 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
This course focuses on mechanics of elastomers. The broad range about elastomeric materials including rubber-elasticity, solid mechanics, finite element method, elastomers testing will be covered during the course. Particularly, it covers the design and manufacturing of structural applications with the use of 3D printing technique. In addition to "Rubber Engineering" and "Seminar on Elastomers" courses, it is recommended for the students who would like to take Vehicle Track under Interdisciplinary Materials Science & Engineering.

Students will learn about the chemical synthesis and characterization of materials with advanced nanostructures and properties, understand various classes of advanced biomaterials used in medicine and distinguish materials suitable for specific applications. Students should be able to critically read and review the literature in the field of biomaterials and have developed their abilities to digest, organize, and effectively present technical material to a group of their peers.

This lecture will provide thermodynamic background necessary for dealing with academic as well as practical problems in polymer science. Most of the ecture will be devoted to discuss solution thermodynamics inciuding multicomponent problem and phase diagram and stability.
