ESM5100 Advanced Topics in Data Mining 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Industrial Engineering - No
This course will provide an in-depth understanding of statistical machine learning algorithms in data mining including neural networks, support vector machines, dimension reduction, ensemble methods, EM algorithm, model assessment, etc. Students will be expected to implement some of those algorithms using R or MATLAB so that they can perform a term project involving improvement of existing methodologies or development of new algorithms.
ESM5101 Research Seminar on Data Mining 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Industrial Engineering - No
In this course, we will select several state-of-the-art topics in the area of data mining and learn the process of inducing new research topics via reading research articles and having a discussion on those. Several key articles on each of the topics will be chosen, summarized, and criticized by the students. This learning process will enable the students to suggest potential research proposals for their own research. Students will also be expected to perform a term project involving improvement of existing methodologies or development of new algorithms.
ESM5109 Patents and Entrepreneurship1 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Industrial Engineering Korean,Korean Yes
The important issues and process of filing patents will be lectured in this class. Also, entrepreneurship using patents will be studied. The related laws will be reviewed, and actual case studies will be carried out.
GSIS011 Information Communication Security 2 4 Major Master 1-5 Information Security Korean Yes
This course covers cryptographic methodologies to solve security problems in information communication. Also it covers the traditional cryptography method, symmetric and asymmetric cryptography method, public-key theory, zero-knowledge interactive proof based on integer theory, information theory, complexity theory, and then introduces the services using those cryptographic method - individual identification, authentication, digital signature, key management - , communication security and network security.
GSIS012 Information Theory 2 4 Major Master 1-5 Information Security - No
This course includes information, entropy matuasl information, communication models which are based on communication theory, source coding theorem, Huffman coding and channel capacity.
GSIS014 Automata Theory 2 4 Major Master 1-5 Information Security - No
In this course, we introduce automata theory which provides an important theoretical background in various fields in computer science. The major contents that will be covered is the following: automata and grammar concepts, regular language, finite automata, context free language, deterministic and nondeterministic concept, recursive and recursive enumerable problems, undecidability, intractable problems, etc..
