The subjects of the class will vary depending on the current trends, but will include such topics as dynamics analysis using Lie group and algebra, sensor and actuator systems, advanced control theories for robotics, machine learning, computer vision, and artificial intelligence.

The objective of this course is to provide a thorough understanding of two-phase flow, condensation and boiling. Topics include two-phase flow patterns, homogeneous flow model, slip flow model, separated flow pressure drop calculation, averaging operators in two-phase flow, drift flux model, annular flow model, laminar film condensation, turbulent film condensation, modeling of turbulent condensation, pool boiling curve, incipient boiling, bubble growth, nucleate boiling mechanism, Rohsenow correlation for nucleate pool boiling, flow boiling heat transfer regime, flow boiling heat transfer correlation, Zuber model for critical heat flux, film boiling. In addition, practical considerations and technical issues of recent high-performance thermal devices using phase change heat transfer will be briefly addressed.

EME5928 Hydrogen and New Energy Power System 3 6 Major Master/Doctor - No
Power systems using hydrogen and new energy are energy conversion systems that can achieve high efficiency and ultra low emission. Hydrogen energy is advantageous for improving the performance in thermodynamic and chemical reactions compared to conventional petroleum fuels, but at the same time it is accompanied by an abnormal reaction, which is delaying practical use. In this course, the basic characteristics of a hydrogen combustion engine considered as one of the next generation power systems, backfire control, forced and self-ignition characteristics, simultaneous achievement method of high efficiency and low emission with high output, free piston linear generator engine capable of achieving more than 50% are discussed. It also covers the characteristics of hydrogen fuel cells and new energy power systems.
